THESE ARE THE THOUGHTS OF MY FIVE YEAR OLD. WE SENT THEM TO THE PRESIDENT WHO RETURNED THE SIGNED PAGES FROM GRADEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN MISSOURI. WE WERE ASKED TO PAY RETURN POSTAGE AS WELL! BUT, WE MOVE FORWARD WITH OUR MISSION AND WANT TO SHARE THAT WE MADE AN EFFORT. SANTA WAS QUICK TO REPLY! WE APPRECIATE THAT!

The Holidays are coming soon. One problem with my Christmas (Holiday) list is that one wish cannot be granted without your help. Even Santa with his speed, jolliness, wisdom and elves needs some support to make this request happen.
Our world has a lot of suffering in it. When I see the news with my dad, I feel very sad that people are at war. Of course, I am proud of our country and our soldiers, but don’t want anyone to be hurt or sad. I would like it if all people could be happy and healthy – especially children who are like me.
When there is fighting, children just like us can lose their homes, go without food, lose parents, and can never have a “Happy Holiday!”
My mom says that my wish for WORLD PEACE is a big wish that might require that Santa Claus send out for some help. I think she is right. Santa needs for all of us to sign this letter, asking our President to do whatever he can to give PEACE to all of the world’s children, starting this Holiday season.
While we are working on this, we should all practice being peaceful with each other. There are a lot of ways to do it. The easiest is by listening to others, being helpful, and doing kind things for people.
There is not much time for us to make the wish for PEACE come true. I hope that each class will add to this letter their names, ages, and anything each person wants to say about PEACE. Since the wish is from my list, I (along with my parents) will make sure that all of the information gets to Santa Claus and the President.
