The relegion war continues… The RESERVATION struggle

Hello all,
    Today, I write this with a heavy heart. Inspite of the numerous peace organizations and movements in India, a war is raging across this peaceful nation! Something very close to a civil war…
    And the reason? Relegious reservations…

    The HRD Ministry of India brought about a new law. A law that compulsified at reservation of 50% seats, in the premier educational institutes, for students belonging to lower castes. First thing is that, I HATE casteism! Casteism was fine, five thousand years ago. It was then, that it had meaning. Castes were introduced then, for the harmonical functioning of the society. But then, casteism was not based on relegion. It was based on occupation.

    Now the situation has been reversed. There is now a high, and low caste, which never existed thousands of years ago. And the HRD Ministry, had now brought about a law, increasing the reservation of seats to 50%!
 
    According to the census, in India, 30% of the population belongs to the “lower castes.” And why 50% reservation? The HRD Ministry is putting up lame excuses. So are supporters of the bill. But the big problem now is, the bill was passed in January, and the Government has to do something to pacify the protestors against this bill.

    Yep. The protestors. The premier colleges list included the most prestigious IITs (graded to give better education than MIT) , IIMs (the most wanted management institutes), AIIMS(the best doctors in India produced here), JNU(foreign studies, language studies etc) and all other national colleges.

    The students of these colleges have started a protest. It was peaceful at first. But now, it has turned bloody violent, with the Police using tear gas, water canons and the works…

   

    The struggle continues all over India, in all its Metro cities, and states. Meanwhile, the HRD Ministry is refusing to comment, though all know that its just dirty politics.
