Gender Discrimination and BFP News

    OK! I’m reading your mind here. Right now, you’re thinking, “FINALLY! This guy posts another article after almost a WEEK!” :D
   
    I have been busy dear reader… School re-opened you see :) . And ofcourse, major changes to BlogForPeace website had been in my agenda for a couple of months, and I hope you appreciate the new no-ads BlogForPeace website, and the new fast, self hosted, shoutbox :) .

    So back to the topic in hand… I joined a new community called AugustFury. Quite a few cool members out there, with a varsity of ideas… I happened to read across a small discussion named “Gender Discrimination” and I thought I would share a few of the views mentioned with you guys, and a few views of my own :)

Gender Discrimination:

According to wikipedia, Gender discrimination is any action that grants
or denies opportunities, privileges, or rewards to a person just on the
basis of their sex.

So is it against woman only, no it’s not.. When we tell a boy not to play with a doll, aren’t we discriminating? Yes, we are.

So, why is it that we woman keep raising hell over it?

After all things are so much better what they were in past.

We are not burned on pyres anymore. Atleast not all of us. Of course
the relative small percentage does get burned for dowry but that’s ok.
So many men also die in accidents everyday. Nobody starts a discussion
on that.

Unborn babies are killed because they happen to have wrong sex.. So that’s a way to control population..

Don’ we see discrimination everywhere around us(yes, even in urban areas)

If a girl is driving, she has to be a bad one..

Brains and beauty don’t go together..

If in work place a girl raises some issue, then it’s because being a female she’s over-reacting.

And most importantly why is it that when a guy helps out at home,
he’s a gem; but a female who does this 24X7 is just doing wt she’s
supposed to?

The worst that I’ve seen around happens in low-income families –
Not enough money, girl quits school first. Need a baby-sitter, girl
quits school.

Her educational talent is never in picture. It’s just another
useless trait she’s born with or worked hard for. After all that won’t
help her in getting married.

And then we have nerves to say it’s a hyped thing.

Yes, I agree we don’t need reservations in bus or in parliament. But if it does help someone what’s the harm.

We saw female ‘sarpanch’ for first time because of these kind of
demands.. We saw woman coming forward in fields kept exclusively for
men including armed services.

Discrimination is everywhere, only extent differs.. But ignoring it or valid issues emerging from this is wrong.

Yes, lots of times laws are used against innocent men. But for that
we don’t need to condemn feminism or females or reservation for
females. All we need is better judicial system.

Everything changes with time but its us who decides this rate of change.

Maybe some of us are ready to wait another 50 years to see gender
equality and maybe some of us want so in another 10 years… Hence the
proposed reservations for women.

Made a pretty long post.. 

Well on end note.. Just one thing whether you are against
reservations for women or for it, Just don’t ignore the discrimination
around you. Maybe you can help in bringing awareness.. then we won’t
need any reservations at all.

      Not bad… A good view, giving value from both angles…
    And here’s my view :)

And no offences to either the male or female sex…

Gender DISCRIMINATION is a big no-no.

But gender SPECIFIC rights and rules is a must.

i.e. God created women to be physically and mentally un-superior(no, not inferior, just unsuperior).

Women(except exceptions) are physically less stronger than men.

Also, women lack a few million neurons, compared to men. And this might
explain why women are influenced by emotional thoughts, rather than
their brains. In other words, in emotional, or in emergent situations,
women are ruled by their hearts, not by their brains.


Thus, the male sex can easily dominate over the female sex, thereby calling for special laws for the protection of women…

But of course, women’s lib is absolute BULLSHIT, and those women who call males “male chauvinists” should be hanged to death Razz
