Pinion - File Security ||| Encrypt your CAD Files!
Hello all.
Due to popular demand, I’m sumbitting a review of Pinion File Security. Pinion is a CAD Protection Technology development company.
As they say in the site, most of today’s architecture is done using CAD. CAD is the basic infrastructure for any building or high rise we see in the neighbourhood. Thus, the design process involves transfer of data via email, or other electronic medium. A suprising amount of such data transfers are done without proper encryption.
In other words, they lack file security. In today’s world, when piracy and spying is at the max, file security is a very big issue. Pinion has many products concentrating on File Security. Pinion allowes a designer to secure his/her CAD files, and set permissions on how the recipient uses the file. Their main producst include -
- SecureShare™ - Highly-customizeable developers’ tool-kit that extends enterprise PLM and other technical data management systems with in-use security.
- Desktop Packager - Windows-based client software for protecting email messages and file attachments. Ideal for users in small and medium-sized businesses!
- SecureCD™ - Secures information distributed on CD-ROM by expiring access to its data, detecting if a CD is an original, preventing copying of data from a CD to another storage device (including hard drives), allowing file access only if the original CD is present, and locking individual CDs to specific users’ computers.
- Sanitizer™ - Completely removes all data from hard drives. The average PC turnover is three years, causing a steady leak of confidential information. Sanitizer (approved by Defense Security Services) uses patented overwrite technology to ensure the fastest and most complete data-removal process available.
- Receiver™ - Controls the in-use applications and documents that have been “Pintected” using the other Pinion Software offerings. This application prevents unauthorized usage of the document according to the permissions that were attached to it.
Pinion Receiver 4.0 Beta is creating a buzz over the information technology world. Another addon to Pionion’s array of file security software, it controls applications and documents which are being used.

Visit their website on more information about protecting CAD files, and File Security.
I hope that my ever-tech hungry readers are satisfied. For those of my more philosophical readers, watch out for the next post… Coming up next… A poem…
Toodles for now

HOT NEWS! Cops link 7/11 case to 9/11 bombings
New Delhi/Mumbai: Claiming a
breakthrough in the 7/11 Mumbai blasts investigations, Mumbai police
have traced a 9/11 link to the Mumbai blasts that claimed almost 200
lives and rattled India’s business capital.
Officials claim the Mumbai train blasts were funded by terrorist outfit al-Qaeda and that some of the accused in the 7/11 case had trained with the prime accused of the World Trade Centre attacks.
The blasts were carried out by Lashkar-e-Toiba, they claim. These revelations are based on hard evidence collected by the Anti-Terrorism Squad and investigators over the last two months.
The details, available exclusively with CNN-IBN, show that at least three of the accused in the Mumbai blasts had trained with the prime accused of the World Trade Centre attacks in
New York on Septmeber 11, 2001 - the deadliest terror attack in world
history that killed about 3,000 people.
Sources in the Maharashtra Government have also confirmed that:
- The leader of the al-Qaeda
group that carried out the 9/11 operation, Mohammad Atta, had
interacted and trained with at least three of the men who carried out
7/11 serial bombings in Mumbai. The interaction took place in a terror
training camp in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir in 2000. - Officials claim there is evidence
to prove that the funding came from al-Qaeda sources and was routed
through Hawala channels from Dubai. - They also claim to have fresh evidence about the 9/11 conspiracy.
- The Maharashtra government now
says it is in a position to share this information with the FBI, and is
seeking the Centre’s permission on the matter.
Sources in the Maharashtra government claim 17 people were directly involved in the 7/11 serial bombings, and all of them are now in police custody. While a majority of them are from Kashmir, a few allegedly hailed from Bangladesh.
All 17 accused had allegedly undergone
training in camps across the border in Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir. Three
of the accused have confessed to training in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir
in 2000 alongside the attackers of the World Trade centre.
Some of the crucial leads in the probe
have emerged out of the interrogation of suspects picked by the police
after Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil’s visit to Malegaon follwing
the bombings.
The accused have revealed that both the
Malegaon Bombings and the 7/11 serial blasts could have been carried
out by the same group with the sole aim of creating communal trouble.
The crucial link between the mosque
bombings in Malegaon and the Mumbai train blasts not only goes to show
the extent of terrorists’ sinister plans, but also the entire
conspiracy is part of the larger global design to spread terror coming
from virtually one source - the al-Qaeda.

So you might ask, “We’ve visited better blogs! Are you insane to tell that the PPP blog is the best, when its posts seem like nonsense to a non member????”
Hmmm…. Did I mention the teeeeny weeeny fact that PayPerPost PAYS you to blog? Actually, PayPerPost is a form of consumer generated marketing - don’t ask me more, I’ve already said a lot about PPP in my previous posts. Anyway, the point is, PayPerPost helps you to advertise on blogs.
So if you ask me for a good review of the blog, here I go…. Lets start with the usual ratings…
For design, I rate them 6/10 - simple design, but it stands out
For content, from a member’s point of view, 9/10 - the information most required is out there
For content from a visitor’s point of view, say, 7/10 - ‘coz some posts need more explanations
For regularity, I give them 9.5/10 - VEEERY regular in posting
For Misc, I give them 10/10 - Which other blog pays you to blog????
So total score - 8.3/10
The thing about PayPerPost Blog is, its very interactive, and delivers the information a member would require, or a visitor would for being impressed. The posts go right out - from announcements, to new ideas, to featured bloggers. Its interactive, interesting, and worth a read if you’re bored. Ofcourse, some bloggers do have creative and wierd ideas, which show up in the posts. All posts are generally fun to read, or bubbling with excitement.
Ofcourse, this blog IS made to mainly cater to the members of PPP. But a visitor can find enough information out there to make him join PPP. For instance, the latest oppurtunity idea for a $1000 will drive anyone to the registration page
