Each of us has a universe inside…
Hello all,
I’ve am avid fan of Paulo Coehelo, and have read all of his books. I was reading his latest book named “Like the flowing river…” which is a collection of short stories and anecdotes. Many are strikingly beautiful, and I thought of sharing a few with you…
Heres one which struck me the most. I’ll explain it in my own way.
Once, an artist and Paulo Coehelo was trying to explain to an audience that each of us has a part of the universe (and God) within us. I’ve also pondered about this a lot, but never found such a simple explanation.
The artist said to the audience, “Look outside through the window, what do you see?”
The audience replied, “We see the street.”
Then the artist took a chart paper and hid the window with it. He tore out a small square piece of paper from the centre, and asked again, “Now what do you see?”
“We see the street.”
Then, he tore out many such pieces, and repeated the question.
“We still see the street through the many different holes.”
My sentiments exactly…
That was a beautiful way to portray what many of us ponder over for hours and days! Considering the road as the universe, and each hole in the chart paper as our souls, the artist conveyed the exact meaning!

And that, is what I have to say today… Each of us has the universe, and God, within ourself. That is what keeps us in hope. That is what we live for… Have a good day
