The art of talking to yourself…

Hey all,
I was just thinking along the lines of how crazy and stupid I was to be talking to myself… Yeah, I talk a lot to myself. Its sort of funny how it all started…

One day, I was tired with studying, and was lying on the bed, looking up. Somehow I started smiling at my reflection on the shiny surface of the ceiling fan. And again, I started talking to myself!

As the days passed, I realized that talking to oneself helps to calm our anxities, fears, tension etc. It helps us to resolve dilemmas easily, relax your mind, make peace, reduce strife and so on and so forth. In short, it had a magical effect to my nervous system.

Later, I talked to a few experts in this field, and they all agree - talking to oneself helps!

So how do you talk with yourself? Its not as easy as it seems. First of all, get yourself alone in a room. Keep your eyes open. Just relax your eyes on something distant, yet not too far. Then, imagine yourself to be two different personalities. Breathe deeeeeeeply. Slowly, delve your body and mind into those to personalities. And simply start talking… As you keep talking, you’ll find that your hands are also split! Your left hand might start gesturing for one part of your reasoning, and vis versa.

And how often can you do this? As much as you want! And anywhere you want! I do it whenever I feel lonely… In my room… In the bus… During classes ;)

Many people have asked me, “Do you speak out aloud?”
I’ve clearly stated above, imagine yourself to be two personalities. Can two people exchange thoughts without speaking out loud?

Well, I’m not saying anything more… Try it out, and do relate your experiences…. :) Adios!
