Smiles…
Hey all,
Today, as I was emersed in the boring theories of extra boring Physics, I came across a pretty interesting thought… It was about the meaning conveyed in a smile…
:)
:)
:)
:)
:)
A simple movement of the lip muscles… A simple greeting conveyed; a signature of friendship; a mark of acquaintance; an essay of meaning; anything from a mark of friendship, to an ocean of expression.
Its true, smile and the world smiles at you
This same smile can be used as a means of peace. As a way of marking your friendship, as a bonding of guests, as a reuniting of enemies… A simple gesture which can be used to spread universal brotherhood and world peace… A gesture of goodwill, loads of “yin” and other forms of positive energy.
There was a friend of mine who kept scribbling all over “Smile smile smile”. At that time, I thought she was just a big fat showoff, but now I realize that she was far from it! Now I appreciatively peer at the cards she had distributed when she left, and nod at the small quote which said “open with a smile :)”.

So, what IS the reason for me thinking up all these when I’m actually supposed to be studying? Simple. I got bored, and I was yet again checking out the school magazine (which I made) and I came across an article written by a junior of mine. At the time she handed it over, we used it to make fun of her and tease her, but now when looked at with a more serious attitude, I think that we should have encouraged her to write more. Ofcourse, she might not have dreamed of the more philosophical implications of what she had composed, but then, “accidental philosophy” shall we say?
Smiles
Smiling is infectious; you can catch it like a flu,
When someone smiled at me, I started smiling too!
When I passed the corner, someone saw my grin,
When he smiled, I realized I passed it onto him!
I thought about that smile, and realized its worth,
A single smile like mine, would travel around the earth!
So if you feel a smile begin, don’t leave it undetected,
Lets start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected!- A. J. [name withheld for privacy reasons]

So what do you think? This little piece of literature is not exactly what I would call sensational, but its “cute”.
I like the thought… Smiling infectious… Lol… Especially when its used against boys by cute girls

Oh, the poet here is talking about herself smiling at her brother, and her brother smiling back, so please dont run away with false implications either
Anyway, back to the subject at hand, smiling DOES seem to be quite infectious
And what I would like to focus on is the line “A single smile like mine, would travel around the earth!”. A single smile could travel around the earth, and can you imagine how much peace it would cause? Its such a wonderful thought isnt it?
Simple and sweet. Keep smiling
Spread the smiles
Lets join those smiles, and make this world a better place
So ladies and gentlemen, cutting it short here, ‘coz time is short, and exams are near, so time is directly proportional to marks
Keeeeeeeeeeeeeep smiling…. (CAUTION : Dont keep smiling 24X7… You might end up in an asylum
)

Wow, I expected there to be a lot more comments on your site. I think that our sites have a lot in common except that mine focuses on the Middle Eastern tradition of tolerance. Still, we are both for world peace and that is what counts. You can see the turkish version of the site here. http://yurttasulhcihandasulh.com
Hey Mo!
Let me guess, is AJ another nickname for yourself? Like Neo Garfield? Lol. I think you were better off with Neo Garfield… I dont believe that junior and school mag stuff. That looks like your handiwork!
Yet another good one from you. I like the poem especially
No Ranya, trust me thats my junior…
No, its not yet another alter ego for myself
Yo!
I was thinking along the same lines dude! I keep saying “smileeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee”
neo… good one pal… i like the poem too. i think the poet had something philosophical in mind, whatever you might say… you never know… all those child prodigies… like yourself
I’m not a prodigy
I’m just a poor normal guy living his life!
BTW, no I dont think she had anything philosophical… As far as I know her, shes just a easy going, down to earth gal… Who made an accidental creation
Mohan, I like the poem too! where’s that online version of the magazine you promised us?
Aaaaaah! Hot poem if you ask me! I dunno what you guys make out of it, but personally, I *LOVE* it!
That way of rhyming… That precious style of worldly awareness mixed with the right amount of arrogance to portray a perfect little image!
Yeah, like you said, “A single smile like mine, would travel around the earth!” IS the fulcrum of the entire poem. But I dont think the poet ever intended it that way! You’ll make a pretty good journalist! Blending stuff into the way you like it
Ahhhhhhhhhh! The great “garfield” does it again
You know, I keep wondering how you get so much time even during your exam time! Pretty good post hon! The whole issue is really meaningful! And I love your advice! Keeeeep smilin
Thank you Lynn!

Aw! Well, you made ME smile. And I think you could well be right - that the one who penned those words may have been blissfully unaware fo how profound they could be.
Nice post!
Lol…
I like your idea of the power of a smile. I think a true smile comes from deep inside and spreads out into the world. I have blog for peace and website also. Please check me out at www.explorelifeblog.com and our peaceful messages at www.peace-together.com.
